Saturday 12th March

The Blood Arm, The Adored, The Tints at Little Pedro’s.

Need proof that L.A.’s rock scene is just as vital and gush-worthy as
New York’s? Look no further than the stellar slew of locals celebrating
the reopening of one of our favorite downtown party spots. The Tints may
be rock & roll offspring (drummer Clara is Red Hot Chili Pepper Flea’s
daughter), but don’t expect any funk-punk spice from these Malibu kewpie
dolls: They spew unadulterated sweet-and-sour power pop (think the Slits
meets the Bangles). The Blood Arm have parlayed local buzz into opening
slots with the Killers and Franz Ferdinand, and no wonder, their
seductive jangle and brooding hooks are just as contagious. Ditto the
Adored (now on V2), who bring their charmed Buzzcocks-basted dance beats
to the party, which will also include punk royal Keith Morris and "Move
Your Feet" fella Senior (of Junior Senior) on the decks. 901 E. First
St., dwntwn. (213) 687-3766. (Lina Lecaro)
