Though the name might scream "healthy" to the unsuspecting drinker, there is little to celebrate about this beverage. Make it yourself at home with 2 percent milk and a scoop of real powdered cocoa-you'll save about 150 calories, plus get the antioxidant benefits of cacao without the high-fructose corn syrup.

If you must sip on something at Baskin- Robbins, make it a small low-fat Cappuccino Blast, which has just 220 calories and one-fifth of the sugar of this Fruit Blast.

Today I had to make a decision on what to blog. I started thinking about how many decisions I/we have to make every day. For me, I knew this decision would probably be easy but I wanted to bring up both options and read through each media piece.
One was a link to some Buddhist audio podcasts, talking about What is Love among other things. The other was an email forwarded to me from a family member of a pdf of China's military strategy, declassified obviously. Being a hippie of sorts, I was much more interested in sending the love, but being a geek, I was drawn to the maps, charts, and graphs of the pdf.
Which one of these links do u suppose this quote comes from- the Buddhist audio or the Chinese military strategy?:

"Observe calmy; secure our position; cope with affairs calmly; hide our capacities and bide our time; be good at maintaining a low profile; and never claim leadership."

Yes, its the military strategy specifically from Chinese leader Deng Xioping's (d. 1997) 24 Character Strategy. In the big picture, this appears to lends itself to show that China is quietly sitting around... and waiting.. for what?.

According to an article in the October 28 St. Louis Dispach by David Sheets they are both examples of businesses faced costly lessons due to a lack of usability."It’s a broad term but one we must consider more carefully to survive the technology-intensive 21st century."

Local experts Charlotte Schwendeman and Jeff Lash are quoted in the article with examples of how they incorporate usability into their professional work. Two local professors, Maggie Jiao Ma and Jerry Weinberg talk about how they teach their computer science students to look at a software design problem from the users' perspective.

Fresh from Guided By Voices¹ farewell tour that ended in Chicago December 31, lead guitarist Doug Gillard has put together a hot backing band to play his first solo concert in support of his debut solo album, Salamander‹the universally praised first release on new Big Takeover Magazine imprint Pink Frost Records, distributed exclusively by Red Eye. (See appropriate attached new frothing press; Salamander was selected by the editors of Amazon.com for their coveted list of the "Top 10 Alternative Rock LPs of 2004.") The special concert takes place in Los Angeles February 10, headlining the grand finale show of the DIY festival, and the second as part of Austin, TX¹s SXSW festival. He will be joined for just this occasion by old Cleveland friend, bassist Tony Maimone (ex-Pere Ubu, Bob Mould, They Might Be Giants, Friction, etc.), and fellow GBV drummer Kevin March (ex-Dambuilders) on drums.

The gig, the focal point of the D.I.Y. Festival dedicated to "Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books," will take place Thursday Feb 10th at the Ex Plex club under the Echo nightclub (1822 W Sunset Blvd near Lemoyne in Los Angeles, 90026 - (213) 413-8200). It will feature Gillard headlining after the three winners of the DIY Music Festival competition from thousands of entries, Team Tomato of Chesterfield, MO (winners of the DIY Album of the Year award); Fredalba (an L.A. band that's DIY songwriters of the year); and Amilia K. Often, there is an unnoticed intimate interaction with the spaces in which we surround ourselves. We take our structures for granted, only to perhaps revisit them someday and be filled with a sense of indefinable nostalgia. Moments leave scars upon these walls.

This is great, I put together a list of bars I want to go to perhaps in teh same night with a designated driver in east LA area included a couple stops in downtown. I have been to Big Foot and Gauntlet but the other, not yet!

Using this mapping service is so helpful in LA. I'd like to create a mapping app from a content listing like digitalcity. Anyone listening?
